On October 7, Hamas launched an attack on Israel, killing nearly 1200 in Southern Israel and taking more than 200 hostages into Gaza. In the war that has ensued in Gaza, nearly 2 million Palestinians have been displaced, 24,000 killed, 10,000 of them children who had nothing to do with the attack by Hamas. As Christians, we grieve with Jewish and Palestinian families over the death of their family members, and we lament the ongoing violence.
