Cultural Conversations is a community event hosted by the City of Bellevue for women in the community. It's a great opportunity to meet new neighbors in a diverse environment. The storyteller for May is Negin Khanloo, who will share her inspiring personal journey as an immigrant. Negin came to the United States as a speaker at a public administration conference about nonprofits in Iran. This short trip changed the course of her life forever. In Bellevue, she had to navigate unfamiliar territory while grieving the loss of her home and family. However, her story is one of resilience, and Negin will share how crucial it was to have mentors as she navigated her new environment, as well as how she continues to mentor women who have made similar journeys. As a strong advocate for women's rights, she uses her own experience to make a difference in her community and help others. Following Negin's story, enjoy an informal discussion time at tables.
