BelPres has been a partner of King County Youth Chaplaincy for a number of years, and J&RR team member Pat Barnes-Cannon is currently serving on their board. Mass incarceration and criminal justice are important racial justice issues, and KCYC is making a tangible difference for youth who are incarcerated. Pat shares the following:"Over the past year I have learned a lot about the works of justice through this group. Most of us realize the spiritual poverty of young people and the need for Jesus. Spiritual hunger is growing deeper and our time is getting shorter to help others. Most of the chaplains are volunteers and monies are mainly used for juvenile emergency needs, group, and individual one to one session snacks/meals. Some of these youth are facing up to 20 years in incarceration. So, won't you join me in the cause for God's justice? There are so many lost that need His word of support."We invite you to attend King County Youth Chaplaincy's annual benefit. It's a brief, live-streamed event, and you'll get to hear powerful stories from youth who are being served. You can find more information at www.youthchaplaincy.org. There's no cost to attend, and you will be given an opportunity to support their work during the event, if you wish.
