During this virtual Cultural Conversations which will be a historical but not a political discussion, we will learn about the Suffrage Movement observing the 100th anniversary of the adoption of the Nineteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, giving women full voting rights in the United States. While the amendment was a major milestone, it's important to note that the right to vote was not afforded to all who were U.S. citizens and came much later for African American, Indigenous, Asian and Latinx women. Bellevue resident and immigration attorney, Karol Brown, will provide a historical overview to ground our conversation. Following the presentation, be inspired to connect and share in small group conversation. RSVP for the Zoom Link: This email address is being protected from spambots.
